Okay, I’m actually very sorry for the gratuitous post title đ But in all sorta-seriousness, check out The Lost Girls blog at www.lostgirlsworld.com. Link to us! Bookmark us! Tell your friends about us. Who the heck are we? Well, here’s a bit of background:
Have you ever felt totally frustrated and drained by your job–and getting the sinking feeling that you just might have chosen the wrong path in life? Well, maybe not (you’re a blogger, man!), but we did.
Holly, Jen and I, three twenty-something women with coveted-but-exhausting Manhattan media jobs found ourselves in the midst of a collective quarterlife crisis, freaking out about our futures but unsure of how to change our lives for the better. That part might not be so unusual but the *cool* part is what we decided to do about it.
We’re getting LOST.
On June 20th (just six days away!) the three of us are embarking on a yearlong, 35,000 mile trek around the planet, a trip that will take us through five continents and more than a dozen countries. Our hope is that by leaving behind the pressures and deadlines that loom over us in the US (rapid career advancement! mortgages! marriage! kids!), we’ll be able to figure out who we are as individuals and make smarter life decisions down the road. What better way to “find yourself,” we think, than by getting lost?
As such, we’ve nicknamed ourselves “The Lost Girls” and have created this website so that family, friends and other 20-somethings can follow our adventures, get tips for travel and perhaps plan an amazing journey of their own.
We hope you enjoy the site, and maybe if you’ve got some vacation days, think about joining us on the road!
All the best,
The Lost Girls (Holly, Jen and Amanda)
